Mannequin Holds Deputies in Sunday Standoff

CLARK COUNTY, Ohio —
Deputies in Clark County are investigating after someone placed a mannequin on the front porch of a house armed with a rifle.
On Sunday night, dispatchers received a 911 call from a resident at 5300 West National Road and reported that there was an unknown person on their front porch armed with a rifle.
The caller said that prior to the individual being on the front porch, the residents heard what they believed was a prowler outside the residence.
The residents of the house took safety in the basement. Deputies arrived and found a white man dressed in jean overalls and a red and grey sweatshirt sitting on the front porch with a long gun in his lap.
Deputies said they tried to give the person verbal commands, but got no response. Deputies were able to approach the subject from behind and discovered that the individual was a mannequin and that the firearm it was holding was a toy shotgun.
Detectives found that a relative of the victim, Tammy Moore, placed the mannequin on the porch as a practical joke. She was interviewed and stated that she and the homeowner regularly play practical jokes on one another.
Moore was charged with one count of inducing panic and ordered to appear in court.
